Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of positive electrode active material for an alkaline storage battery having a high utilization factor of active material.
SOLUTION: The particle surfaces of active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide are coated by at least a multi-component compound composed of one or more of compounds selected out of a group composed of nickel, zinc, cadmium, magnesium, aluminum, and indium, and a cobalt compound. The active material particles coated by the above mentioned multi-component compound are dried in a nitrogen or inert gas atmosphere, or in vacuum.
