PURPOSE: To prevent bent adhesion of pins and thereby improve a yield by fixing the pin to a jig and thermally treating it.
CONSTITUTION: When thermally treating a printing pin 1 of high stainless steel, ceramic powder, e.g. alumina powder is uniformly applied to the surface of the pin. A heat-resistant tubular jig 2 is inserted into, e.g. a pipe of ceramics such as alumina while vibrating the jig minutely. During thermal treatment, the pin is fixed so that its movement may be prevented. The thermal treatment is performed by incorporating annealing of the pin after baking and nitrogen- treatment in the same process, thus simplifying a manufacturing process. By employing this method, the bending and adhesion of printing pins are prevented and the yield is increased.
