PURPOSE: To obtain a manufacturing method for a pulley in which the web part can be positioned in the middle of the boss part.
CONSTITUTION: The pulley E is produced by the first process in which a cylindrical boss part 51 and a web part 52 are formed respectively in the center and the circumference of a circular work 50 made of a metallic plate, and the second process in which a slitting roller 60 is pressed against the middle of the end face 51a of the boss part, slitting as far as near the base of the boss part by synchronously rotating the work and the slitting roller, and forming one boss part 51b orthogonally crossing the web part and the other boss part 51C. Then, the pulley E is successively worked by the third process in which the boss part 51C is formed into the boss part 51e orthogonally crossing the web part and oppositely facing the boss part 51b; the fourth process which forms a rim part 30 on the outer circumference of the web part by roll forming, web part 20, and V-groove 30a on the rim part; and the fifth process in which the end of the boss part 51b is calked or bent after a bearing 40 is force-fitted into the inner face of the cylindrical boss part 51b, 51e through the opening of the boss part 51b.
