PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely improve a material loss and to reduce costs by pressing a ring wire rod to form a ring shaped plate stock having a wall thickness and punching the inside diameter part and/or outside diameter part to obtain a ring shaped plate member having a prescribed shape.
SOLUTION: A frictional plate 7 having a tooth part 7a is formed of a steel wire rod circular in cross section. For this purpose, first the steel wire rod circular in cross section is wound with a cylindrical coiling jig. It is cut every one winding unit length. Both end parts of a ring wire rod obtained in such a manner are welded to obtain the ring wire rod circular in cross section. It is pressed in the winding axial direction to form a ring shaped plate stock having a prescribed wall thickness. The inside diameter part and/or outside diameter part of the ring shaped plate stock are/is punched to form the tooth part 7a, and the ring shaped plate having a prescribed shape (frictional plate 7) is obtained. The steel wire rod is preferably composed of a low carbon steel wire rod of S10C or below.
