Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of a material by rolling a steel strip continuously in a tapered state in a widthwise direction, and bending the strip, thereby forming a weight. CONSTITUTION:A hoop material 13 of a balance weight which is secured onto a rotor end ring is punched with a hole 8 for securing the weight in the previous step of rolling a tapered shape. In this case, the pitch (l) of holes 8 is determined to l [{(r1+r2)/2}X2piXtheta/360]X1/2. Thus, when the spiral hoop material 13 is cut in the prescribed size after taper rolling, the cut portion becomes the intermediate between the holes 8b and 8c in such a manner that the positions of the holes all coincide at the laminating time.
