PURPOSE: To increase volume efficiency and to lengthen the life of a battery by press-fixing a synthetic resin frame and an outer jacket arranged on a press- bonding reference surface with at least one of a hot plate and a cooling plate from the start of melt-bonding to the finish of cooling and solidifying.
CONSTITUTION: A frame 1 and an outer jacket 2 are press-fixed with a cooling plate 4 at the same time as the starting of melt-bonding, and press-melting is started with a hot plate 3 while press-fixing is conducted with the cooling plate 4. Before the pressure of the cooling plate 3 is released and press-melting for a specified time with the hot plate 3 is finished, the start of press-fixing with the cooling plate is detected and press-melting with the hot plate 3 is finished. Until the melt-bonded part is cooled and solidified, press-cooling is conducted with the cooling plate 4, then pressure is released, and melt-bonding is finished. Melt-bonding strength in the melt-bonded part is increased, scattering of melt bonding strength is decreased, volume efficiency is increased, and the life of a battery is lengthened.
