To manufacture a highly accurate seamless metallic belt having no welding line by cutting an outer peripheral surface of a seamless belt raw material formed by continuing a thin plate-like metallic material in an annular shape, and forming a thickness of the belt in a constant thickness as a whole.
In the case of manufacturing a seamless metallic belt to be used in a molding belt device or the like, first of all, a metallic material is worked by forging, extrusion or the like, and a seamless cylindrical raw material is made, and next, it is cut by honing work or the like, and a belt raw material 21 is formed. Then, this is installed on a core 11, but at this time, the core 11 is put in a cooling condition, and after the belt raw material 21 is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the core 11, the core 11 is heated and expanded, and the belt raw material 21 is held on an outer peripheral surface of the core 11 in an expanded condition. Afterwards, the core 11 is rotated, and a cutting tool 14 is contacted with an outer peripheral surface of the belt raw material 21, and this outer peripheral surface is precisely and uniformly cut over the whole circumference and the whole width, and a necessary seamless metallic belt is obtained.
