PURPOSE: To decrease the internal loss of a cell and to increase the stirring and distribution performance of reaction gas by metallically bonding the bottoms of metallic corrugated plates to a metallic partition, and cutting out a part of recessed and projecting part in a direction perpendicularly intersecting to the recessed and projecting part of the corrugated plate.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell is formed by plurally stacking a unit of an electrolyte plate, a positive plate, a negative plate, and a separator 6. The separator 6 consists of a metallic patition 8 and metallic corrugated plates 9, 10. The corrugated plates 9, 10 have corrugated recessed and projecting parts 11, 16 formed by plastic working, and the recessed and projecting parts 11 and 16 are metallically bonded to both sides of the partition 8 so as to perpendicularly intersect each other. A hollow part 13b formed by a groove 12 and a rib 13 of the corrugated plate 9 serves as a fuel gas passage 15, and a hollow part 19b formed by a groove 18 and a rib 19 of the corrugated plate 10 serves as an oxidizing agent gas passage 20. A cut-out part 21 is formed in the corrugated plate 10 by cuttin out a part of the rib 19 so as to perpendicularly intersect to the recessed and projecting part 16. Thereby, the internal loss of the cell is decreased and the stirring and distribution performance of reaction gas is increased.
