PURPOSE: To provide a sheet which has an uneven surface like the natural leather, by bringing the surface of a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet having an uneven surface, into contact with the surface of a heated body to heat and flatly press only the tops of the protrusions of the surface of the sheet.

CONSTITUTION: An uneven surface 8 of a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet 1 is brought into contact with the surface 4 of a heated body 2. At the same time, a thrusting force is applied if necessary. Only the tops 11 of the protrusions 9 of the uneven surface 8 of the sheet are thus flattened to provide the thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet with the uneven surface like the natural leather. As for another method, the uneven surface 8 of the thermoplastic synthetic resin 1 is heated and softened so that the uneven pattern of the surface 8 are not eliminated. The surface 8 is then brought into contact with that of the surface body 2. At that time, a thrusting force is applied if necessary. Only the tops 11 of the protrusions 9 of the surface 8 are thus flattened to provide the thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet with the uneven surface like the natural leather.
