Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a Ge doped SiO2 system rod lens having a GI form in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: A porous perform 3 consisting of a GeO2-SiO2 glass is obtained by a VAD method and is made to a rod form by making it a transparent glass. By extending the rod, a specified rod lens size is formed. Thereafter, by irradiating the extended rod with 106-108 radioactive rays the plexes of the net work of SiO2 are cut. Finally the rod is heated for several min.-10min. and the rod lens for which a reflactance profile diffused thermally with Ge is smoothed and the fluctuation is relaxed, is formed.
