PURPOSE: To provide the method for manufacturing monodispersed spheroidal gold fine grains having ≤1μm grain size.

CONSTITUTION: An acid soln. of gold choride mixed with ammonia and whose pH is regulated to 0.5 to 2.5 and a soln. obtd. by adding a water soluble high polymer compound to an aromatic compound having at least one hydroxyl group as a reducing agent and whose pH is regulated to 8 to 10 are mixed to precipitate gold fine grains, by which monodispersed gold fine grains are obtd. In this way, the spheroidal gold fine grains of ≤1μm satisfying the properties required for the recent ceramic industry, electronic materials or the like can be obtd.
