Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make magnetizations of two fixed magnetic layers stable in anti- parallel condition, and prevent high ΔMR(mutation of resistivity) from dropping by properly controlling the magnetic moment of the two fixed magnetic layers, and the direction of the magnetic field applied in heat treatment and the magnitude.
SOLUTION: The magnetic moment of a first fixed magnetic layer 12 is smaller than the magnetic moment of a second fixed magnetic layer 14. In this case, a magnetic field of 100-1,000 Oe, is applied in the direction opposite to the direction where the magnetization of the first fixed magnetic layer 12 is desired, or 5 kOe or higher field is applied in the direction where the magnetization is wanted. Hereby, the magnetization of the first fixed magnetic layer 12, and the second fixed magnetic layer 14 can be kept in anti-parallel condition.
