PURPOSE: To realize size reduction of a stepping motor by a method wherein comb-teeth are formed on the one side of a belt-shaped magnetic material, the magnetic material is formed into a cylinder, the joint part of the cylinder is fixed by welding and the part of the cylinder on the side opposite to the comb-teeth is bent outward and expanded to form a disc-shaped part.
CONSTITUTION: Comb-teeth are formed on the one side of a belt-shaped ferromagnetic steel plate in a longitudinal direction. Then the steel plate is formed into a cylinder and the joint part of the cylinder is fixed by welding or the like. Then the part of the cylinder on the side opposite to the comb-teeth pole part 1 is bent outward and a disc-shaped part 2 is formed on obtain a stator core. With this constitution, the length of the comb-shaped part can be arbitrarily selected independent of the diameter of the stator core, so that a motor having the teeth part with the required length can be designed independent of the motor diameter and the requirement for the size and weight reduction of the machine can be satisfied.
