Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a steel material superior in toughness of heat affected zone after large heat input welding, by applying heat treatment at a specified temp., then the final hot rolling under a suitable condition, to a steel having a specified compsn. contg. C, Si, Mn, Ti, V, Al, N, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The steel composed of 0.03W0.16wt% C, 0.05W0.80% Si, 0.80W2.0% Mn, 0.005W0.020% Ti, 0.005W0.020% V, 0.005W0.080% sol.Al, 0.015W0.0080% T.N, further if necessary, ≥one kind among 0.005W0.02% Nb, 0.05W1.0% Cu, 0.05W1.0% Cr, 0.05W0.5% Mo, 0.05W3.5% Ni and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is heated to 1,000W1,200°C, then rolled by ≥30% accumulated draft at ≤950°C, to obtain the titled steel material superior in toughness at welded heat affected zone.
