A surgical suture packet C includes an egg-shaped plastic pan G, its principal part is covered with a hard paper lid, and a needle-suture assembly consisting of a needle H and a suture 1 is held by the pan G. During a packing process, the suture packet C is enclosed in a cavity D in each of plural packages A held in a frame B, and the upper and lower surfaces of the cavity D are thermally sealed by separable metallic foil E, F such as aluminum to hold the packet C sterilized.
