PURPOSE: To facilitate the manufacture of a superconductor of a shape of a wire, tape, etc., by forming the superconductor by extruding, cooling and solidifying softened fluid-state substance of a superconductive material or raw material mixture thereof through a fine hole.
CONSTITUTION: A hopper 1 is high-frequency-heated by a coil 2 provided around the hopper 1 to keep a molten substance 3 of either a superconductive material or raw material mixture thereof in a uniformly molten condition. The molten substance 3 is extruded out of a nozzle 4 attached to the bottom of the hopper 1 in a tilted condition relative to the vertical direction continuously at a certain flowing speed under a pressure applied by a gas such as argon, accommodated into a rotary vessel 5 rotating at speeds of 100W800rpm and holding cooling water 6, to be immediately cooled and solidified as a wire material circularly accumulated on the bottom of the rotary vessel 5.
