PURPOSE: To securely obtain a superconductor wire material of an excellent superconductivity such as the critical current density, etc., by spraying a fused oxide superconductor on a long size base material.
CONSTITUTION: An oxide superconductor, a material including a substance to be an oxide superconductor by heating, or a material which consists of a mixture of element units to compose an oxide superconductor, is heated and fused, and the resultant fusion is sprayed on a long size basic material to form a membrane which is quenched immediately. And the base material with the membrane is heat-treated in an ambiance including oxygen. As the oxide superconductor, many kinds of substances are available, but a perovskite structure oxide superconductor including a rare earth element is used with a practical effectiveness. In such a composition, a wire material consisting of a dense oxide superconductor can be obtained easily.
