Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a manufacture method for suspending anticorrosive spring without lowering the strength by preventing pitting resulting in start of breakage of the spring from producing and also preventing delayed breakage from occurring.

CONSTITUTION: In a manufacture method for suspension spring which passes through a series of processes such as soaking, hot forming, quenching, annealing shot peening, chemical conversion treatment, painting, etc., or cold forming, soaking, quenching, annealing, shot peening, chemical conversion treatment, painting, etc., cadmium is electrically plated at least on a part of the surface of a spring formed material after shot peening, and then the spring is painted and baked for hardening. By this, a suspension spring free from delayed breakage can be produced. Also, by repairable corrosive action of cadmium, pitting resulting in start of corrosive fatigue and breakage in salt damage environment can be prevented from producing.
