PURPOSE: To manufacture the homogeneous titled rod in a short time with a small loss of material, by stretching a material to be processed by giving the inclination in the distribution of the magnitude of deformation resistance through the axial direction after making a small dia. intended part of the material in a structural state of the highest degree of plasticity.
CONSTITUTION: A change of permeability of a material 1 to be processed, heated by supplying electric power from an electric source 6 for heating, is measured by a magnetic-property detector 13 to detect the temperature of suddenly changing point by a temp. detector 12 in order to set the temp. as a standard temp. T1. The temp. of material 1 is, further, raised by a prescribed temp. ΔT from the temp. T1, to reach the temp. T2, optimum to the processing, and the power supplying is stopped when reaches the temp. T2. The above-mentioned control is performed by setting it in a controlling circuit 14 previously. Next, a temp. distribution pattern through the axial direction of the material 1 is obtained by blasting cooling gaseous body against it from nozzles 11 of each air nozzle block 7, 8 and 9. Next, the material 1 is stretched by moving a stretching chuck 3 in the direction of the arrow. Thus, a rod, having a large diameter part (a), a tapered part (b), and a small diameter part (c) arronged repeatedly in sequence, is formed by repeating said operation, and then, is cut by a cutter 15.
