To provide a method for manufacturing test piece for measuring characteristics of sands by which test pieces can be molded with less height variation.
The compression characteristic of sampled molding sands S to be measured this time is estimated based on the measured result of the compression characteristic of the sampled molding sands measured immediately before the sample S to be measured this time. Then the height of the cavity 1A in a sand pipe 1 for molding test piece is controlled by deciding the throwing amount of sands in the pipe 1 based on the estimated value of the compression characteristic. After the sampled molding sands S are thrown in the controlled cavity 1A of the pipe 1 and the excessive amount of the sands S is removed, a test piece is molded by pressure molding the sampled molding sands in the cavity 1A with a prescribed pressure.
