Title:
MANUFACTURE OF THIN-FILM MAGNETIC HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06208708
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic head having the small quantity of floating by a method wherein a thin-film forming substrate, in which a large number of magnetic elements are formed, and a rail forming substrate, in which a large number of slider rails are formed, are manufactured separately, and the substrates are cut into rectangular blocks in specified size and aligned and bonded.

CONSTITUTION: A large number of magnetic circuits are shaped onto an alumina substrate 1 in thickness of 20-100μm and a square having four sides of 50mm and a protective film is formed onto the magnetic circuits, and the whole is cut into rectangular blocks 2. On the other hand, an urethane resist film 4 is laminated on an alumina ceramic board 3 in thickness of 640μm and a square having four sides of 50mm in a mask manner, specified places are sensitized, sections as slider rails 7 are masked with the resist film, and mask patterns, by which the board 3 is exposed, are formed in sections as recessed sections. Exposed sections having no mask are removed through ion sealing, etc., and slider rail sections are shaped, and the slider rail sections are cut into a plurality of blocks 5. A surface on the reverse side to a slider-rail 7 forming surface is bonded with a jig 6, and the blocks 2 are cemented with end faces rectangular to the rail 7 forming surface by using a thermosetting resin, and the whole is divided and cut into each magnetic head 8.
