Title:
MANUFACTURE OF TUBE OF ALUMINUM-BASED COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3662765
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a tube formed of an aluminum- based composite material easy in a reducing during the extraction.
SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises a process to manufacture an aluminum-based composite material billet by infiltrating a molten aluminum alloy into a porous molding consisting of oxide ceramic, an extrusion process to form the aluminum-based composite material billet into a composite material tube 55 by an extrusion press, and a tube reducing process to form a grip portion 62 by inserting an aluminum tube 56 into the composite material tube 55, and reducing the composite material tube 55 together with the aluminum tube 56, and a process to draw a grip piece by mounting the grip piece on the grip portion 62 after the grip portion 62 is passed through a die. The aluminum tube is closely attached to an inner circumferential surface of the composite material tube, and the composite material tube is pressed outwardly by the elasticity of the aluminum tube, and thus, the compressive stress is generated in a surface layer portion of an inner surface of the composite material tube, and the composite material tube is difficult to crack. The composite material tube is free from any cracks, and easy in reducing.
