Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a secondary working in extruding a product and to manufacture a high-precision tube with a stepped inner diameter by forming the tip of a mandrel in a multistep shape and taking the tip of the mandrel into or out of a die hole. CONSTITUTION:A billet 22 stored in a container 21 is held between a dummy block 11 at the end of a press stem 10 and a die 6 at the end of a die stem 4 and upset and pierced by the mandrel 12. A mandrel tip 31 for a small diameter at the end of the mandrel 12 is set to the hole of the die 6. Then, an engaging block 15 is engaged with stoppers 19, 20 and while operating oil is supplied from a 3rd pump 28 to a mandrel cushion cylinder 16, operating oil is supplied from a 1st pump 23 to a main cylinder 8 to advance a main ram 9. Since the billet 22 in the container 21 is pressurized by the press 10, it is extruded from an annular clearance formed by the die hole 7 and the mandrel tip 31 for small diameter to manufacture a tubular product 32.
