Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a metallic or alloy tube, and to provide a seamless tube made of the material difficult to work by keeping the metal or alloy at the temperature not less than its melting point, and sucking it into a cooling tube together with gas.
CONSTITUTION: TiNi alloy is heated under the argon atmosphere, and kept as the molten metal 2 in a crucible 1 made of graphite. Then, a suction tube 3 made of quartz is brought close to the surface 2a of the molten metal, and the molten metal 2 is sucked together with the gas 4 through a sucking tube 3 at the prescribed sucking pressure to manufacture a seamless tube. The sucking angle θ of the sucking tube 3 is dependent on the viscosity of the molten metal 2, and the sucking pressure is dependent on the diameter of the sucking tube 3 and the viscosity of the molten metal 2, and the sucking angle θ is preferably e.g. ≤60°. This constitution provides a seamless tube made of the material difficult to work, e.g. the TiNi shape memory alloy.
