CONSTITUTION: The, joint is provided with a plastic coupling pipe 1 having a spherical shell-shaped fitting enlargement formed in one end, and a plastic pipe insertion adapter 3 wherein the exterior surface is made into a spherical surface along the inner surface of the enlargement 2, a rubber ring layer fitting groove 4 is provided on the outer peripheral face, and a rubber ring layer fitting groove 5 is provided on the inner peripheral face at the pipe insertion side respectively. The adapter 3 is formed such that the rigidity is larger than that of the enlargement 2. The pipe insertion adapter 3 is disposed on an enlargement opening 2a in the direction where the central line a-a is crossed approximately at right angles with respect to the central line b-b of the enlargement 2, and under this state, the adapter 3 is force-pressed to expand the enlargement 2A gradually in its diameter for forcibly pressing the adapter 3 into the enlargement 2, to thereby constitute a universal joint.
