PURPOSE: To manufacture a vibration-damping steel sheet, excellent in vibration- damping performance, provided with a high bonding strength, inexpensive and prominent in resistance welding properties, by a method wherein grit blasting process is applied previously on a bonding surface of a steel sheet and a vibration-damping resin.
CONSTITUTION: The processed surface of a steel sheet, formed by applying grit blasting process, is formed irregularly with recesses 1 and projections 2, and large-sized and small-sized recesses 1 and projections 2 are scattered while the edge of the projections 2 and the trough of the recesses 1 areprovided with acute angles. Accordingly, contacting area between conductive metallic powder 4, mixed in vibration-damping resin 3, and the steel sheets 5a, 5b is increased whereby a good conductivity between respective steel sheets 5a, 5b may be secured, even when the metallic powder 4 is small particles in a small amount. Further, when the steel sheets 5a, 5b are pressed under heating through the vibration-damping resin 3, the sharp recesses and projections develope a large anchor effect, in addition to the effect of the electric conductivity, whereby a high bonding strength may be obtained. The same things may be applied even in the case when metallic fibers are employed.
