Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a manufacturing method for welded wide-flange shape steel and its device as are capable of eliminating left and right uneven heating in the end part of a web material and therefore are capable of stably securing superior quality of a joint.
SOLUTION: In the manufacture of a welded wide-flange shape steel in which, after the end part of a web material 1 is formed, the part is welded to a flange material 2 by high frequency resistance welding, the end part of the web material is reduced in thickness in the reverse face rather than in the web face with which a power feeding tip 4 comes into contact, by using a asymmetrical caliber roll stand or a web upsetter containing an end cutting device.
