To provide a manufacturing apparatus that can easily perform a winding work in a shorter time and at a lower cost by preventing a leaf end of each separation membrane unit from being folded and inserted in the layer.
A laminated material is obtained by stacking alternately the separation membrane unit formed by sandwiching one of a feed liquid passage material and a penetrated liquid passage material and another of the feed liquid passage material and the penetrated liquid passage material, and then connecting a tip of the penetrated liquid passage material to be located at an upper side with the penetrated liquid passage material to be located thereunder one after another. The manufacturing apparatus for a separation membrane element is obtained by winding the laminated material around a liquid collecting pipe, beginning with an end of the penetrated liquid passage material at the bottom layer. The manufacturing apparatus is equipped with an auxiliary means for preventing the leaf end of the laminated material from being inserted in the layer when winding the laminated material around the liquid collecting pipe.
