To provide a manufacturing apparatus of a spectacle lens capable of highly accurate machining when working on a groove, a protrusion or the like and also capable of detecting a shape and dimensions of a lens after grinding.
The manufacturing apparatus is constituted of a lens machining part for machining a lens 100 to become a spectacle lens and a detecting part for detecting an outline shape and/or dimensions of the lens 100, wherein the detecting part includes a pair of probes. The probe 11 has a rising surface 15 facing a concave or convex surface of the lens 100 as an end surface of a platelike part 14 of the lens 100, and a slope 16 facing a round edge surface of the lens 100. The outline shape and/or the dimensions of the lens 100 are measured by further engaging an edge of the concave surface or the convex surface of the lens 100 with a boundary between the two surfaces 15 and 16.
