To provide a manufacturing apparatus for a spherical bearing assembly including a spherical bearing for housing and supporting a spherical journal by using a fiber reinforced composite as a material, and its manufacturing method.
In a first gripper 240, a groove 242 for housing an edge on one end of the spherical journal 120 is formed. The first gripper 240 is fit to the journal so as to move along a second guide hole 226 of a plunger 220. In a second gripper 250, a groove 252 for housing another edge of the spherical journal 120 is formed. The second gripper 250 is fit to the journal so as to move along a first guide hole 216 of a mold 210. The spherical journal 120 is installed in a cavity of the mold 210 while being fit to the first gripper 240 and the second gripper 250, and after the fiber reinforced composite is filled, the fiber reinforced composite is molded into the spherical bearing for housing the spherical journal 120 by closing the mold 210 and the plunger 220.
