To prevent the variance of the thickness of sheets exceeding the tolerance, and to prevent the curvature of the sheets from exceeding the tolerance by holding a work by a stabilizing member at a specified position relative to a blade at the position immediately before the work enters the blade when the work is brought close to a cutting edge of the blade.
A thick board is placed flat on a top surface of a conveyor 56, and an edge of the thick board is abutted on a work guide roller 62 and positioned upward. The roller 62 is positioned along one edge of the conveyor 56, and the axis in the longitudinal direction of the thick board is positioned to be substantially perpendicular to the moving direction of a blade 22 when the thick board is fed into a sawing machine. Then, the thick board is fed forward into pinch rollers 30, 31, 32, 33, and these rollers keep the thick board in a very stable manner by the press-contact relationship and in a substantially parallel manner to the blade 22 while the thick board is fed into the blade 22, and moved therethrough.
