Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing device for prepreg in which coating liquid is applied to a reinforcement fiber sheet that can efficiently impregnate a reinforcement fiber sheet with matrix resin, even in a state of high-speed continuous running.SOLUTION: The manufacturing device for prepreg comprises a running mechanism that makes a reinforcement fiber sheet run downward in a substantially vertical direction and an application mechanism that applies matrix resin to the reinforcement fiber sheet. The application mechanism can store the matrix resin therein, and further comprises a liquid pool part and a narrowed part communicated with each other and two rod-like members extending longer than a width of the reinforcement fiber sheet in a width direction of the reinforcement fiber sheet made to run. The liquid pool part has a part at which a cross-sectional area continuously reduces along a running direction of the reinforcement fiber sheet. The two rod-like members are arranged to be plane-symmetrical with the reinforcement fiber sheet made to run, in non-contact with the reinforcement fiber sheet and a wall surface of the application mechanism and so that upper ends of the rod-like members are lower than members of the wall-surface. The narrowed part has a slit-like cross section and has a cross sectional area smaller than an upper surface of the liquid pool part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
