Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing chopped fiber bundles which can continuously and obliquely cut a reinforcing fiber yarn, and which can stably and continuously produce the chopped fiber bundles obtained by oblique cutting without trouble due to dust generated during cutting, or the like.SOLUTION: An apparatus for producing chopped fiber bundles is an apparatus which comprises a cutter roll 10, a nip roll 20, a guide 30 for guiding a reinforcing fiber yarn 1, and reciprocating drive mechanisms A and B, and which, while moving the yarn path of the reinforcing fiber yarn 1 fed in between the nip roll 20 and the cutter roll 10 in a reciprocating manner, continuously cuts the reinforcing fiber yarn 1 with the cutter roll 10. There is provided a cleaning roll 60 which is arranged close to at least one of the cutter roll 10 and the nip roll 20, and which is rotationally driven in the same direction as the rotation direction of the cutter roll 10 or the nip roll 20. There is provided an air-blowing mechanism 70 for blowing air toward a part located between the cutter roll 10 or the nip roll 20 and the cleaning roll 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
