PURPOSE: To decrease variety in quality of a heat pipe by housing a solidified volatile liquid within a space formed by a first and a second members and evacuating the space, thereafter, jointing both portions by frictional press-jointing.
CONSTITUTION: A first member 1 is provided with a recess 5 opened at one end 3 thereof and having a bottom 4. A second member 2 closes the opening of the recess 5. A frozen volatile liquid 6 is housed at the bottom of the recess 5. The end portion 3 of the first member 1 and the same 7 of the second member 2 are opposed with a gap 8 and a frame 9, divided into two parts, is arranged around the gap 8 air-tightly by utilizing 0 rings 10, 11 and an oil seal 12 which are interposed between the two parts and between the frame 9 and the first or the second members. Air in the frame 9 and the recess 5 is evacuated sufficiently, thereafter, the second member 2 is rotated by a frictional press joining machines in a high speed under being pressed against the first member, and thus, the end portions 3, 7 are jointed. By sealing the volatile liquid 6 within the space 14 in such a manner, variety in quality of a heat- pipe may be decreased.
