Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an aluminium alloy substrate for a magnetic disk, in which flatness is reduced and which is suitable for promoting high recording density of a magnetic disk and to provide the aluminium alloy substrate for the magnetic disk.
SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing an aluminium alloy substrate for magnetic disk comprising a punching process manufacturing an aluminium alloy substrate by punching an aluminium alloy plate in a doughnut shape, and a press annealing process for performing annealing this aluminium alloy substrate with a load applied on it, the punched aluminium alloy substrate has plate thickness area sum of the prescribed value or less.
