Abstract:

To provide crystal-oriented ceramics composed of a polycrystal body of a perovskite type compound at least comprising Na and Nb, oriented at a high degree of orientation in the pseudo-cubic ä100} plane, having high relative density and capable of controlling the composition relatively easily, to provide a method for producing the same, to provide anisotropic-shape powder used therefor, and to provide a method for producing the same.

The anisotropic-shape powder comprises a second perovskite type compound at least containing Na and Nb as the main phase, the developed plane is composed of the pseudo-cubic ä100} plane, and also, the aspect ratio of the maximum length (wa) of the developed plane to its thickness (ta), (Wa/ta) is ≥2. The crystal-oriented ceramics is composed of a polycrystal body comprising a first perovskite type compound at least containing Na and Nb as the main phase, and the pseudo-cubic ä100} plane of each crystal grain composing the polycrystal body is oriented.
