To provide a manufacturing method of a color filter having a blue pixel part, excellent in heat resistance, and obtaining a high-luminance liquid crystal display with a clearer, high-contrast and brighter display screen, and the color filter using blue pigment composition for a color filter obtained by the manufacturing method for its blue pixel part.

An -type phthalocyanine pigment and pigment mixture containing phthalocyanine derivative substituted by phthaloimidemethyl group whose content in the pigment mixture is 4-15 mass% are kneaded at 80-120C under the presence of water-soluble inorganic salt and organic solvent. The kneaded product is washed with water or acids to manufacture the color filter pigment composition. The obtained blue pigment composition is used for the color filter.
