To provide a manufacturing method of a cage for a cross groove type constant velocity universal joint, which omits cutting work of an inner diameter face side, has superior productivity, and reduces manufacturing costs.
A short cylindrical material 22 is fit on a mandrel 31 having a swelling part 32 on an outer circumference face 30. The short cylindrical material 22 is turned around its axis L5 in a state of holding the short cylindrical material 22 by the swelling part 32 of the mandrel 31 and a recessed circumferential groove 35 of a forming roll 36 arranged in an outer diameter side of the short cylindrical material 22. A material inner diameter face 20b to be a cage inner diameter face 12 is formed by the swelling part 32 of the mandrel 31, and a material outer diameter face 20a to be a cage outer diameter face 11 is formed by the recessed circumferential groove of the forming roll.
