Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a camshaft which can suppress a variation of a quenching depth of a cam, related to the camshaft which is used in high-frequency induction heating.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a camshaft includes a processing process for forming a raw material 10 of the camshaft in which a disc plate part 14 protruding to the outside of a radial direction from a shaft part 11 is arranged between a valve-driving first cam part 31 and a valve-driving second cam part 32 which are aligned in an axial direction of the shaft part 11, and a heat treatment process for applying high-frequency induction heating to the raw material 10. In the processing process, the raw material 10 whose radial dimension from the shaft part 11 in the disc plate part 14 is set larger than a peripheral position corresponding to a base part 31A of the first cam part 31 in a peripheral position corresponding to a nose part 31B of the first cam part 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
