Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method making it possible to handle a tubular belt canvas in a wound state, in regard to a manufacturing method of the canvas for a transmission belt which sharply shortens a time for manufacturing the tubular belt canvas, and to a manufacturing method of the transmission belt using the same, particularly in the first half process thereof.
SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the canvas for the transmission belt and the manufacturing method of the transmission belt, the canvas 1 constituted of warp 2a positioned parallel to the longitudinal direction (a) and of weft 2b so disposed that the angle of intersection thereof to the warp is 90° or more is prepared. The ends of the width ends of the canvas 1 are put on each other and the ends are butt-jointed to prepare the tubular canvas 4. After this canvas is wound up on a winding shaft continuously, it is cut spirally and thereby an opened canvas 7 of which the warp 2a and the weft 2b are disposed at an mutually equal angle to the longitudinal axis is prepared. Then, the opened canvas 7 is cut in a prescribed length, and the cut ends of the canvas are jointed to be made into a belt canvas 8.
