Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain carbon rod which has favorable adhesion with compound for dry cell and hardly permeable electrolyte in such a way that sintered carbon rod and non-sintered carbon rod preformed mixing resin bonding agnet with carbon particle are bonded under pressure lengthwise.

CONSTITUTION: Sintered carbon rod 1 is formed in such a way that carbonized sintering is effectuated on the formation made by mixing and kneading under heat the bonding agent, such as tar, pitch, etc. with carbon powder, such as graphite, coke, etc. And, for example, flaky graphite is used as carbon powder, phenol modified xylene resin is used as resin bonding agent, which are mixed to formulate a preformed material 2 for non-sintered carbon rod formed under pressure. The sintered carbon rod 1 and preformed material 2 are inserted into the spatial part 9 between metal molds 7, 8 which are preheated, after that, the both are bonded with use of a mold 10 under pressure lengthwise, and the resin bonding agent gets set, to obtain carbon rod for dry cell.
