To provide a manufacturing method for a ceramic baked body having holes, capable of easily forming the holes.
A hole forming vessel 1 for forming holes to ceramic has a housing vessel 3 for housing a ceramic slurry 2 and a holding vessel 5 housing a thixotropic material 4 having thixotropic properties. A large number of through-holes 7 are provided on the bottom wall 6 of the housing vessel 3 and the holding vessel 5 enables the housing vessel 3 to be relatively moved in the holding vessel 5 while the side wall 12 of the vessel 3 is brought into slide contact with the side wall 14 of the vessel 5. When the housing vessel 3 and the holding vessel 5 are moved relatively, the thixotropic material 4 is injected in the ceramic slurry 2 through the through-holes 7. When the ceramic slurry 2 is heated in this state, and the housing vessel 3 and the holding vessel 5 are mutually relatively moved, the fluidized thixotropic material is removed to the holding vessel 5 through the through-holes 7 to obtain a ceramic dried body. Thereafter, the ceramic dried body is baked to obtain the ceramic baked body having the holes.
