Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preform for forming a clutch drum capable of manufacturing at a low cost a clutch drum for a double clutch having a No.1 drum portion W1 which opens in one axial direction, a No.2 drum portion W2 which opens in the other axial direction, and a common hub portion W3 which fixes both the drum portions W1, W2. SOLUTION: A preform WF comprises a frame WFa in the air corresponding to a hub portion W3, a circular plate portion WFb which corresponds to a joint portion of both the drum portions W1, W2 and which is built up as a single piece in the periphery of the middle portion of the frame Wfa, and an annular ring portion WFc which is built up as a single piece in the periphery of the circular plate portion and which has thicker wall thickness than the circular plate portion, having a bigger cubic capacity than the total cubic volume of the peripheral walls W1a, W2a of both the drum portions W1, W2. By exerting parting of the annular ring portion WFc and by forming the peripheral walls W1a, W2a of each drum portion W1, W2 with each half portion W1a', W2a', both the drum portion W1, W2 and the hub portion W3 can be formed as a single piece.
