To provide a conductive material with excellent conductivity using fine rod-shaped metallic fine particles (metal nanorods) having a nano grain size.
This conductive material contains rod-shaped metal nanorods having an aspect ratio (major axis/minor axis ratio) larger than 1. Preferably, the metal nanorods have major axes less than 400 nm and the aspect ratio of 100 or less and are manufactured in a aqueous solution containing a surface active agent. This aqueous dispersion of the metal nanorods is extracted to a nonaqueous solvent by mixing with the nonaqueous solvent under existence of a supernatant dissolving the surface active agent and a nonaqueous disperser. The conductive material also contains the disperser containing a dispersion medium and nitrogen atoms and/or sulfur atoms.
