Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a connecting rod which is favorable in surface alignment between a fractured and divided rod part and a cap part even if the cap part is thinned in thickness, has no risk of a scatter or the cap part, and is executable by simple equipment and in an easy manufacturing condition.SOLUTION: In a connecting rod manufacturing method, an inside jig 14 is fit into a crank pin hole 13 of a large end part 12 of a connecting rod 11, a load is imparted to the large end part 12 in a longitudinal direction of the connecting rod 11 by the inside jig, the large end part is thereby fractured and divided into a rod part 15 and a cap part 16, and after that, the rod part and the cap part are joined to each other, thus constituting the connecting rod 11. Lock members 17, 17 are attached to both sides 12a, 12a of the large end part 12 at the cap part 16 side, and at the fracture and division, tensile loads in a direction for separating the cap part 16 from the rod part 15 are imparted to both the sides 12a, 12a of the large end part 12 at the cap part side via the lock members.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
