PURPOSE: To easily manufacture a curved tube type fluorescent lamp in which a pair of annular sections are coaxially juxtapositioned by bending both sides of a direct tube into annular types with the mutual same shape on the same plane and then bending an intermediate section in a U-shaped type.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of round annular sections 5 and 6 with the mutual same shape are formed on both sides of a straight tube type glass bulb 8 by heating the bulb 8 up to the temperature at which it can be curved and sections 11 and 12 to be curved in the coming process that are positioned on both sides holding the intermediate point of the bulb 8 there between are bent simultaneously on the same plane, while an intermediate bent section 13 formed into almost a U- shaped type is formed between the annular sections 5 and 6. Then a joint section 7 is formed by heating the said intermediate bent section 13 again up to the temperature at which it can be curved and bending the intermediate bent section 13 in almost a U-shaped form in the direction perpendicular to a plane including the annular sections 5 and 6 and a curved tube type bulb 1 whose curved sections 5 and 6 are coaxially opposed and juxtapositioned is molded.
