Abstract:

To provide a manufacturing method of an electro-optical device capable of easily corresponding to the electro-optical device having liquid droplet ejection regions with different sizes and arrangement pitches and of arranging a functional liquid.

A manufacturing method of an electro-optical device for forming a functional film of the electro-optical device by using a droplet discharge head provided with a nozzle array includes: a functional liquid arrangement step of forming a liquid reservoir of a functional liquid containing a material constituting the functional film in a liquid reservoir region; and a pixel functional film formation step of forming a liquid reservoir region functional film from the liquid reservoir, dividing the liquid reservoir region functional film and forming pixel functional films. A width of the liquid reservoir region in an extension direction of the nozzle array is equal to a length of the nozzle array or less while being equal to a nozzle pitch or more. In the functional liquid arrangement step, by discharging the functional liquid toward the liquid reservoir region from at least a part of a plurality of discharge nozzles capable of being opposite to the liquid reservoir region, the manufacturing method thereof forms the liquid reservoir continued in the liquid reservoir region.
