Abstract:

To provide a welded stainless steel pipe which has excellent spinning workability of ≥55% shrinking pipe rate and also superior high temperature strength and weld-zone toughness and can be manufactured without requiring the setting of complicated welding conditions dependent on a steel composition.

The welded ferritic stainless steel pipe for spinning process is characterized in that: it has a composition consisting of, by mass, ≤0.03% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, ≤0.1% P, ≤0.03% S, ≤1.0% Ni, 9 to 24% Cr, 0.05 to 0.60% Nb, 0.05 to 0.30% Ti, ≤0.15% Al, ≤0.03% N and the balance essentially Fe, satisfying inequalities Ti-4(C+N)≤0 and (Nb+Ti)-8(C+N)≥0 and also satisfying a specific relational expression depending on the wall thickness (t) of the pipe; and it has a TIC weld zone where a back bead appears at the internal surface of the pipe.
