Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a filtering medium for an air filter having high filter performances (low pressure loss and high collection efficiency), hardly causing clogging at particle loading and having sufficient strength physical properties (tensile strength, Gurley stiffness and surface strength) required when being processed for a filter unit and being used.SOLUTION: In a production method of a filtering medium for an air filter according to an embodiment including a papermaking step performing the papermaking of a raw material slurry dispersed with fibers in water by a wet papermaking method and forming wet paper, and a drying step thermally drying the wet paper and forming sheet: the raw material slurry includes completely molten binder fibers, core-sheath binder fibers and micro glass fibers as the fibers; an average fiber diameter of the micro glass fibers is 0.1-6.0 μm; and the whole or part of the completely molten binder fibers and the whole or part of the sheath portion of the core-sheath binder fibers are melted and the sheet is formed in the drying step.SELECTED DRAWING: None
