Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method for a flame-retardant, heat- resistant lumber wherein a high flame-retardantce and heat-resistance can be imparted to the lumber.
A solution, wherein an alkali metal compound or/and an alkaline earth metal compound are added to at least one kind of a metal alkoxide which is selected from silicon alkoxide, boron alkoxide and phosphorous alkoxide, is infiltrated in a lumber. Then, in cell cavities of the lumber, the metal alkoxide and the compounds are hydrolyzed or thermally decomposed, and then, condensation-polymerized to form a non-combustible metal oxide. Thus, a high flame-retardance and heat-resistance can be imparted to the lumber.
